2018 Notifications and Special Announcements

2017 Year Report

The club has had another successful year with many different activities going on. We raised a total of £6,079.00 for our chosen charities - Yeovil Freewheelers, Headway and St Margaret's Hospice.  I personally would like to thank all the organisers of the events we do and do very well. Many people enjoy what we do and complement how well run they are. All the events have been quite well supported but we always have room for more so spread the word. I am also hoping to have time to join in on the club's ride out's next year and it's important to get feedback from the membership - good or bad; we do listen after all, and try not to rest on our laurel's and continue to work together to make them even better.

The club membership is holding at around 80 members.  We would like to see more ladies and younger members joining the club. I feel that it would be great to have a wider appeal to other riders and in turn they will bring in fresh ideas.

Our Christmas carvery was very well supported this year with 44 members enjoying a nice relaxing afternoon at the Lamb & Lark. I did try to speak to everyone but if I missed you I'm sorry.

I would like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

Regards Henry.

CLASSIC BIKE SHOW 2018, SHEPTON MALLET

CLICK HERE for Charity Run Reports

After many weeks of planning we finally got it  together and on Friday 2nd of February  we all met to assemble the stand at the Carol Nash Classic Bike Show, Shepton Mallet.

This year we had negotiated a new location for the exhibit and any concerns over our spot were soon forgotten as it proved to be excellent.  We were the first club stand to be seen by the public as they entered the show.

Our exhibit  consisted of 18 motorcycles covering all aspects of motorcycling and over the two days we had plenty of visitors asking all sorts of questions from technical details of the bikes to information about  the Club’s Charity runs.  We were all kept very busy.

We also managed to win a couple of rosettes for Mr Clive Cooper and his Cooper/Honda Special and Mr Mark Copley for his Kawasaki H2.  I feel there should have been more as the standard of our exhibit was very high.  It looked excellent  and all those who took part should feel very proud of their hard work.

I would therefore like to thank all of you who supported the Westland's Classic Motorcycle Club  and I look forward to next year.
